[This is difficult.]
The problems had been protruding like a nail from a wall, never used to hang anything, but painted over and smoothed several times. Yorolaie now wanted this nail hammered in, a level smooth surface where a problem used to be. It would be so, once he had spoken to his parents about his decision. Perhaps he’d even place a picture of Leifd over the scar to make the memory of that painful sharp annoyance seem humorous, or worth the discomfort.
There they were. Thanatos and Darryn, Sun and Night. The men whose lives and interactions had caused his existence. Thanatos, workaholic, reserved, reasonable. Darryn, emotional, loyal, reliable. Both of them, father.
He sat facing them, lifting his fingers in decline as Darryn silently offered him cake and tea. There was an untouched slice of apple sponge in front of him and a bare plate before Thanatos as well.
When this conversation was over perhaps he could eat cake. Such a simple small goal attempting to eclipse the larger one, but it was definitely attainable.
“Thank you both for coming. What I have to tell you wont take long unless you have questions. I've thought about it a considerable amount."

Still, he didn't have to be formal, giving his son a smile. "Putting thought into something, Yorolaie? How unusual for you."
no subject
For Yorolaie, Darryn being jovial was excessively appreciated. Formality was something he commanded naturally, it was not a conscious choice and anything that was brave enough to beak the spell of seriousness always met him with relief.
"I can't remain in a stationary relationship. It has to move forward." He began, not sure how much information he needed to divulge. His usual default of 'as little as possible' didn't really apply to his parents.
"I'm going to attempt to live with Leifd in Vestilibrium."

It was also a reminder of a time long ago, when Yorolaie and he hadn't been so close. Hurtful though that was too, Darryn smiled lovingly at his son. "Well, I'm glad after all the searching you've found somewhere you might like to live outside of the library."
Really, Darryn in his somewhat fatalistic viewpoint had thought Leifd and Yorolaie might have broken up rather than found a solution to Yorolaie's current issues. This was a much better outcome than he could have hoped for.
"When are you going to move?"
no subject
For his part, he too felt the sting of loss at Yorolaie's decision, but ore over he was concerned for the boys safety. Vestilibrium was a dangerous place for one working against it, as Yorolaie did.
He would have words with Leifd, that was certain. Words and warnings.

"I need some time to get my affairs in order, as does Leifd." He said. "I estimate it at three months."

"All right. You'll always have a room here of course, baby." Darryn looked at Thanatos, more than aware he was guiding the whole conversation as usual, but wanting him to be able to speak if he had anything to say.
"Is there anything you want us to help with?"
no subject
He was pleased that Darryn had confirmed to him that his room would always be available should he want to return to it. He had assumed as much, but it was pleasant to have the oral contract.
"Perhaps your father and I could inform your siblings of this decision on your behalf. Would that be useful to you, Yorolaie?" Thanatos asked in the same somber tone he always kept. He did not comment on his feelings regarding said decision. He would confide in Darryn later that he had several concerns to keep.
Yorolaie considered Thanatos' offer, then nodded.
"It would."
